Recreating the movie theater experience in the home is becoming more and more popular these days. There is an increasing trend with the amount of people that want to set up their own home theater system. There are many home theater systems to suit every desire and budget these days therefore it can be a challenge to find one. If you are like most people you want a home theater system that won’t break the bank. The good news is that there budget home theater systems in a box can strike a balance between sound quality and cost.

Everybody’s budget is different, so it’s important to first consider the amount we want to spend. There exists a wide price range for home theater in a box systems. There are some very good quality systems that are in the under 500 price range, so setting your budget some where in the middle is probably a good idea. Home theater systems in a box have become more affordable due to more and more competitors entering the market vying for your business. The good thing about that is, as consumers, we have more choices to select from, lower prices, and home theater systems that are packed with features.

Let’s briefly touch on some points regarding specifications. The display systems at your local electronics shop can help you to sample the features that are available. With the many different systems on display, it could help you find what you like in a system. It goes without saying that quality sound is one aspect of a home theater system, but there are other features to think about as well. Some systems are equipped with the ability to incorporate XM satellite radio and can provide the capability to hook up a portable music device to increase your listening options. By sampling the different systems you can understand the features and specifications in a home theater system, and that can help you to choose more wisely.

Another point to consider with any home theater in a box is getting better video and audio cables. The reason is because many manufacturers provide quality amplifiers and speakers but provide low to average cabling in order to pass that savings on to you. You’ll find you will get better audio and visual sound with improved cables. Check out speaker cables that use solid gold connectors instead of braided wires and are at least 16-gauge thick. You can find them by searching online or at your local electronics store.

Being able to bring home the sight and sound found in movie theaters is not only fun, but can be done very efficiently and can be less costly if you set a budget and have an idea of your requirements. An example of a mid range home theater in a box that offers superior sound and quality is the Onkyo HT S790. This home theater in a box meets much of the criteria we discussed above and is worth further investigation for those looking for a budget home theater in a box.

Onkyo HT S790 on Squidoo!

If you are in a rush check it out here: www.squidoo.com/onkyo-ht-s790

It’s here. Finally, I’ve joined the Squidoo community and developed my first squidoo lens! It’s only appropriate that my topic is the Onkyo HT S790. I had a lot of fun putting it all together, and it will be an on-going process whenever I find more content to add to it. One of the best parts of squidoo I think is not only to include various sources of information about a topic (in this case the Onkyo HT S790), but how you can include videos and rss feeds as well. It was amazing to see some of the videos put up by home theater owners. One of my favorites was the one with the home theater built like the inside of a spaceship! I’ve also included links to several articles I’ve written about the Onkyo HT S790 and home theaters in a box. If you are already in the Squidoo community, I’d appreciate it if you could vote on it and hopefully add it to your favorites. Overall, there are some real gems in there and I invite you to have a look: www.squidoo.com/onkyo-ht-s790.

Feb 27, 2007 @ 10:15 pm by Rob

There is a vast abundance of information when it comes to choosing a home theater system. You are probably thinking that what should be exciting is suddenly turning into a painful exercise. Let’s see if we can provide you with some points to help you narrow the research process. First and foremost, consider your bank account. How much money you are willing to spend? What you would like in an entertainment system? Keep an eye out for sales and bargains from newspapers and do some of your research online. If you tackle the task from this point of view, you’ll find that you will end up choosing a home theater system that you will be happy with for a long time.

It’s important when you consider your finances that you have a set budget in mind. Think about your payment options before you are in the store so you would have already made the decision to pay by cash or pay by credit. If you are going the credit option, consider if you will be able to afford the long term payments and interest fees. In short, before you even start to compare prices and systems, figure out how much you want to pay up front or on-going on a monthly basis.

Now you are ready to spend some time comparing home theater systems. Think about your entertainment requirements and see if you can find a theater system that meets what you want at an affordable price. One of the most difficult things to do is to stay financially focused on the task at hand. What I mean by that is, if you are shopping for a home theater system don’t stop and start pricing the latest and greatest television sets! If it’s not in your budget, stay away from it! You’ll end up wasting a lot of time and getting frustrated. Keep focused on looking for home theater systems that offer you superior sound quality that won’t break the bank.

The Onkyo HT-S790 is one of the more popular home theater systems that deliver on quality and affordability. The Onkyo HT-S790 home entertainment system is a 7.1-channel receiver/speaker package which has been a favorite of home theater experts for quite some time. The reason is because it is a welcome alternative to its high priced counterparts. This system is packed with features that you don’t normally find in a mid range home theater system. Probably one of the more popular features is that the Onkyo HT-S790 is compatible with XM satellite radio, which is the number one satellite radio provider in the U.S. If you have an iPod you’ll be happy to know that that Onkyo’s RI Dock for the iPod treats your iPod as a Onkyo component, giving you full control of your iPod through one remote. Feb 27, 2007 @ 09:56 pm by Rob

Going to the movies is great experience, but very few can deny the feeling of being at home enjoying a movie from your own room. Sometimes, we want to escape our day to day stresses, so why not consider bringing the movie theater experience home?

With all the information on home theater systems out there on the market it can be a challenge to sort through it all. In conducting my research for a home theater system, there was one model that home theater experts agreed stood out among the rest.

If you like impressive features at an affordable price the Onkyo HT-S790 home theater system packs quite a punch. The system includes a more than capable amplifier, expansive yet noiseless audio signal processing, and easily integrated playback options. Onkyo doesn’t offer a DVD player with their system, but don’t let that deter you. Hopefully, your not in the market for a home theater system just for the DVD player, anyways! Your decision should be based on what the system can offer in recreating that theater experience that you are after. The Onkyo HT-S790 has a 7. 1-channel A/V receiver which is more powerful than its competitors and the quality of its larger than average eight-piece speaker/subwoofer package makes it one of the best home theater systems on the market today.

One of the features of the Onkyo HT-S790 is that if you have a subscription to XM satellite radio you have the ability to plug an XM Passport System into your XM Ready A/V receiver, and start receiving uninterrupted radio programming. By the way, XM is the number one radio satellite service in America. The XM “Connect-and-Play,” is an innovation designed to integrate XM into virtually any home or portable electronics entertainment device. The Onkyo HT-S790 delivers this technology making the availability of XM even easier for home audio fans. Another popular feature is the Onkyo HT-S790 RI or Remote Interactive system capability which enables you to use one remote to integrate and operate all compatible components. What you can do with this is simply connect your iPod to your receiver through Onkyo’s RI Dock for the iPod and your iPod becomes another Onkyo component! You can enjoy higher quality sound that headphones just can’t deliver. The RI feature also allows you to operate your iPod for centralized control over your digital music.

Bringing home the sight and sound you run after in movie theaters may be very efficient and less costly than you might think. Bottom line, if you are looking for a system that offers superb sound quality and is feature packed the Onkyo HT-S790 delivers.
